Location
Set on the shores of Murat Bay, it is the western-most town of any size in South Australia. The township is aptly named, as Ceduna is a derivative of an aboriginal word "chedoona", meaning "a resting place", as it is the ideal place to finalise your preparations for the journey to Perth or to recuperate after crossing the Nullabor from the West
Areas such as.
- Decres Bay
- Laura Bay
- Davenport Creek
- Denial Bay
are all within day-tripping distance from Ceduna, each providing magnificent scenery, good swimming and surfing, rock and surf fishing.
Ceduna is the focal point and business centre of the far west coast and is the hub of a large cereal-growing area.
